First Car Controlled by Mind: Developer Chinese Researcher

Chinese researchers have developed a car that can be controlled simply by the mind, car that uses nothing but brain power to drive. China’s first mind-controlled car has been developed by the research team from Nankai University, in the northeastern Chinese port city of Tianjin. They spend 2 years  on this project  to bring this mind-controlled car to life. This is the country’s first car that uses nothing but brain power to drive. So Let’s get some more information about the First Car Controlled by Mind.

Researcher Zhang Zhao told the news agency, “The tester’s EEG (electroencephalogram) signals are picked up by this (brain signal-reading) equipment and transmitted wirelessly to the computer. The computer processes the signals to categorize and recognize people’s intention, then translates them into control command to the car. The core of the whole flow is to process the EEG signals, which is done on the computer.”

Associate Professor Duan Feng, stressed that the technology is aimed toward the higher serving group of peoples which it would on potential to mix brain controlled technology and driverless cars, like the Google Self Driving Car (SDC). Along with serving to differently-abled individuals and helping in checking pollution, the system is additionally safe from absent-mindedness, a significant handicap with Google projected driverless cars. Concentration in these newer cars required only to change their moving standing, like changing lanes or turning. The only drawback with this mind-bending technology for now that these cars are capable of moving forward only in a forward straight direction

The system only desires the driver to concentrate once ever-changing the state of the vehicle, like breaking. While the experiment is actually artistic movement, it’s unlikely such a system would ever be offered to customers. For one factor, the car cannot be steered by the mind, and there are nearly no advantage of a mind-driven car over a self-driving, autonomous car. After all, human error is that the reason behind over  90% of all traffic collisions — thus the move toward less human involvement, not more.
