UPSC Civil Service Exam 2014 Result: Declared

Union Public Service Commission has announced the Civil Service Exam 2014 Result today. The Civil Service Exam was three stage process: Written exam, Main Written Exam, & Final Interview. So after the Interview all the candidates were waiting for UPSC Civil Service Exam 2014 Result.

Civil Service Exam 2014 Merit List was announced today on www.upsc.gov.in. According to the press note published on the website, a total of 1,236 candidates have been recommended for appointment. This year’s toppers are Ira Singhal, Renu Raj and Nidhi Gupta. Four out of the five toppers are women.

UPSC Civil Service Exam 2014 Result:

A total number of 1,236 candidates, including 590 in General category, 354 belonging to Other Backward Class, 194 from Scheduled Caste and 98 from Scheduled Tribe.

Ira Singhal said “I am really very happy. I can’t believe this. I just prepared for the examination. I want to be an IAS officer. I want to do something for the benefit of physically-handicapped people.”

Renu said “I am extremely happy. I have been preparing for the exam for the last one year”. Renu has got second person at the first attempt.

Third rank holder Nidhi said it is a proud moment for her to get selected in the examination. “It is really a proud moment. I put in lot of hard work and finally it paid”.

Vandana Rao, who got the fourth rank, is the topper in the Other Backward Class (OBC) category. Vandana said “I called up people twice to cross check whether or not I have made it in the exam. It is a pleasant surprise. It is really a result of hard work”.

The basic guideline at the start of the preparations for both Preliminary and Main Examination is to read NCERT books on related subjects. There is no substitute for them.
