Neerja is an Indian biopic directed by Ram Madhvani. The movie is based on true story i.e. Neerja Bhanot Real Story. The movie stars Sonam Kapoor in the lead role and Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani in supporting roles. The film has been produced by Atul Kasbekar under the banner of Fox Star Studios and is slated for release on February 19 this year. This movie is one of the most awaited movies this year and has already sparked controversy over its release in Pakistan. The movie has been released on the said date without further ado for audiences who are waiting to watch the movie.

Neerja Story Plot:

The story is about the bravery of an Indian air hostess who was shot dead by hijackers of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan. With the focus on the flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, the film shows how the young girl fought for the lives of the passengers on the plane. She died saving three children from a shower of bullets.

Sonam Kapoor plays the role of Neerja who was only 22-year-old when she died trying to save children on her flight in 1986. She was shot dead when she was shielding three children from the bullets of the terrorists. She also saved American passengers who were the biggest targets that day. Neerja was the youngest person to receive the Ashok Chakra. The movie is coming out 30 years after the incident took place.

Neerja Review– The music of the movie has received a lot of admiration while the trailer of the movie itself has raised the expectations of those who are waiting eagerly for the release of the movie. Some of the songs have already hit it off with music lovers and the same is hoped for the movie. Sonam is known to play more glamorous characters in her other movies; however, this role will wash away the stereotype. According to reports, the actress was the director’s first choice for the role. Sonam had personally met Neerja’s mother in preparation for her role.
